Thats American Wagyu, which is a cross between Japanese Wagyu and typical American cattle.
Theres a lot of controversy on the terms "Kobe" and "Wagyu", and they get thrown around to make the suggestion of quality on a given product, which isn't always the case.
Now, if you source some Japanese Wagyu from the Miyazaki region of Japan, thats something to write home about. But thats also somewhere around $300/lb.
Also, I'm not questioning the quality of the steak that KenB925 purchased, I'm sure it was amazing non-the-less

I paid $300 for 200 grams of Wagyu in Tokyo. Best steak I've ever had.

One of these days I'll be able to experience that first hand. Haven't had a chance to make it to Japan yet.
