Regarding that quote, that's typical of the stealership. They like to use book time vs actual. I remember paying $600 for a $50 part.

I just installed a full brake package kit. They quoted me $1900 just for labor. I had an Indy shop do it for $475. Major different.

Defiantly go to an Indy shop. That's an easy job.

As an aside...

I'm also seeing on the RO that the left front spring was replaced, and that the thrust arm bushings were recommended, but not replaced...(?)

Not sure. I think for me it was a guessing game for bmw since. It was my third time there for the issue.
