You know, when I first saw the new G11/12's on the BMW website configurator, I didn't like it. That's putting it mildly. IMO it just doesn't represent the car correctly. The BMW Welt release event pics were far better representations IMO.

Saying all that to say this: IMO the new G11/12 is a solid hit. I don't like the S-Class sedan at all, save perhaps for the Maybach. I don't like the current design language overall of MB with the AMG GTS as somewhat of an exception. Somebody said the S550 sedan looks too 'Korean'...that would be accurate- to my eyes, anyway. It definitely looks Asian in design influence aside from the MB Star- esp the exterior.

The F02 7 generation was a starting point, but they have advanced and sculpted it far better than the previous one.
The new 7 series trounces the S-550 sedan in many areas, IMO. YMMV.
