As a follow-up to this particular track and as per some commentary found below the video on YouTube.....
"To everyone who doesn't know. Rooster has a triple meaning.
Rooster was the nickname of jerry's dad, and he was in the vietnam war. The 101st airborne had eagle patches on their arms, and the Vietnamese thought the eagle was a rooster.
And lastly, M60 gunners we're called Roosters because the flashes from the barrels looked like rooster tails.
There was a whole lot of thought and emotion put into the writing of this song.
By far one of the best songs ever written in my opinion."
