Yes, they did remote tuning. It was easy and didn't take too long to do. 30-45 minutes maybe in total.
Once he loads the software on your system, he can show you how to return it back to stock if needed. It's a 15 minute process to flip between stock and tune.
Personally, I've never switched back to stock for routine maintenance or minor warranty issues. Never on any of my BMWs. They only check when there is a major issue. Even then, it's not detectable during basic diagnosis.
