Listen, I know what I'm talking about. I know what demographic these cars are aimed at, and what they are trying to provide: luxury and comfort. However, BMW has and will probably still advertise the 7 series as being dynamically capable. Having an 8spd transmission could hurt this potential. That's the problem I found with the current 7 series. Honestly I don't think it holds a candle to the S class and it just hangs with the A8 in terms of luxury, yet its saving grace seems to be its dynamic edge according to magazines and other various reviews.
