I blew out a tire last weekend hitting a pothole as well. I was doing about 60mph and hit that thing HARD. I immediately lost all pressure and ended up having to drive about 25 miles back to where I had started. I had taken the car on a road trip that weekend and ended up having to leave the car there and go back to Anchorage to order a replacement. I went to a tire shop first and they said they only had a Toyo tire that would fit and that because of the AWD system, they can't put on a tire with mismatched tread or it might mess up the transmission. Anyway, I'm heading back down this week with a replacement tire and driving back slowly and carefully.
I'm definitely getting a separate set of 19" wheels and winter tires in the fall.
