My point is that, for me, the acceleration/speed only keeps you interested for a bit. But nothing beats the ride and comfort of these cars, and its not like they are slow by any means either.

This guy nails it. My fun car is a Porsche 911 and before that It was a number of BMW M4's and M3s. I daily a G11 7 series. It is hard to find a better car for commuting. Also lowering it and adding a tune will give it all the power you could need on a daily basis. Very close to a base M5 as far as acceleration when tuned.
