Exactly and this is what the media fails to realize or purposely omits when writing about Toyota being late to the EV game. Toyota holds the most patents in the solid state battery space. They are the first company to have a prototype running solely on solid state batteries. Akio Toyoda has brilliantly setup up is company to fully enter EV market at the correct time, when the right battery tech is ready. Solid state batteries will revolutionize the EV market. What is the rush to enter a market that currently makes up less than 6% new car sales in US right now? Meanwhile Toyota will sell every new hybrid Prius they can produce.
