Sounds like a major invasion of privacy. Besides, all BMW's come with GPS vehicle tracking from the factory, which allows them to locate the vehicle if stolen etc.

No they didn't it seemed a bit odd to me as they said it was part of an "offer" included in the service pack but every 7 series gets the service pack and it's not an offer as such just part of the spec, never heard of it before, if they'd said BMW leasing had required it then that would have made sense.
I had to have a Porsche tracker fitted once to a 911 as that was part of the Porsche insurance regs but never on a BMW and my insurance hasn't asked for it either.
I'd prefer it not to have a tracker as I don't like them.
