The 5 vs. 7 driving experience is really night and day. The 5 is a luxury sport sedan, depending on how it's configured (sport package, engine, etc.) determines where it fits on the scale between luxury and sport. The 7 is a luxury car, period. The Alpina ramps up the luxury even more, and then bumps up performance by another factor. Aside from the engine improvements, the difference between "comfort" and "sport" is much greater in the B7 than the 750. It handles extremely well for what it is, but it is still a 4800 lb. car and all of the suspension wizardry can't hide that.

Every car I buy I plan to keep forever. But I tire of it, or something newer/shinier/faster comes along, and they go. So, who knows?

And no, I'm not sharing what I paid, largely out of embarrassment. The used car market is ridiculous and this one was at the top.
