3/2026.30 Update

[BMW5and7]

Just got the 3/2026.30 update on my i7. It looks to me that BMW has been on a consistent series of updates once at least every 3 months for the past few years which is great; and most were great new features.

I've been using it for 2 days now; no glitches at all. Note that the home auto-unlock customization will not work right after the update until your first/next trip back to home.

For this update, the main feature is AI integration into the map and route prediction (Navigation powered by AI). Haven't tried it yet, but recently I've been using the native maps and iDrive more than carplay and found it to be extremely smooth and useful.

The other thing I noticed is that iDrive is even smoother now. Folks on the X7 have noted the same.

I would echo this result as well. One thing I did notice however is how my Esim displays. Other than that I have not noticed anything else.

I also noticed that my BMW app keeps assuming and showing this message ("Update almost ready") under the car Status window... as if the update files were transferred but not yet installed in the car. I may need to reset my phone, or re-install the app.. am not sure. It's a phone app issue not the car from what I can tell.
