Rear brake pad service
Hey all,
Needing a brake pad service but tbh not trying to go to the stealership. Anyone have part #’s or sources I can get full sets ? Maybe reduced brake dust or squeaking? Much appreciated ! |

Are you familiar with any of the online part database sites like www.bimmercat.com or www.realoem.com ? If not, these sites allow you to enter the last 7 digits of your VIN (or select accordingly) and you can find the correct 11 digit BMW part for you car. Unfortunately, these two sites have not updated to the latest models. I think they only go up to the 2019 model year...but if your model platform is listed, the part nbr is probably still the same.
You can also call or stop by your local BMW dealership's PARTS DEPT...which is not the same as the SERVICE DEPT...and many are helpful. They can pull up the correct part nbrs based on your VIN (again, have the last 7 digits of your VIN ready). once you have the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr...then the internet is your universe. You can simply type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx (where x=the actual part nbrs) into a google search and find dealers and other online vendors that are selling that part (new and/or used). Many of the "go to" online vendors will populate to the top of the google search if you don't want to use your local BMW dealership.

My car will also need pads soon and I can't stand how horribly loud and dusty the OEM pads are...unacceptable for a car of this caliber...trying to find aftermarket replacements but so far doesn't seem like much is available.

Really? I can get my hands on pads and discs for ATE, Bosch, Brembo, Delphi, TRW, Zimmermann and bunch of shady unknown brands. I know, two different continents, but it is still hard to believe that none of those are available over at the US.

Perhaps it depends on how good one's google skills are?
Example following the suggestion in my previous post: 1. look up rear brake pad 11 digit part nbr 2. type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx (where x=actual part nbr) into a google search box Item #1 are the rear brake pads for the G12 M760i: https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...iX/USA/34_2368 ....after typing BMW 34216893228 into a google search...I get some of the results you see below:
