F01 LCI Order Option Debate
Aloha All,
Working on a $88k budget, I am torn between doing an ED lease on a individual 740i moonstone/amaro (wood insert steering wheel, convenience pkg, lux seating pkg) or a 740Li with M-Sport pkg (20" rims), lux rear seat pkg and rear sunshades. I like the idea of the individual but I also like the rear seat pkg on the long wheelbase. Bottom line I can't afford a individual 740Li so it's one or the other. My local CA says since I'm 30 with no kids a 740i M-Sport is perfect. Which would you go for? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Chris |

Hi Chris, What model year will you be ordering? Are you sure it will be the LCI? If so, can you post the options list!? Otherwise, tough choice, but go for the 740i M Sport!

I'm obviously biased, but I say go ED with the 740Li, M-Sport package and luxury rear seating package (exactly what I did)

Thanks guys! I've never been in this bracket of the forum, by that I mean high-line, so it is nice to see welcoming folk.
dbs, our local GSM said their first shipment of LCI's will be here soon. I am not placing my order untill April 2013 so I have a long time to pick and choose (LED headlamps, B&O). But I see you have exactly what I want... a Li with individual... nice. Interesting that you would suggest the M-Sport. cracker, I did consider the 640i GC and coupe but I want to go big. I've done the 1999 328i, 2001 540i, 2003 M3, 2009 E92 335i and now the 2011 E91 328xi, so I thought I'd try something new. TheBry, you have an awesome ED write-up! I think the Li would do great crusing around Europe. It is interesting to hear others opinions on the topic of owning a 7er... If I may share; My CEO thinks it's "a bit" ostentatious, but I think that's because I'm the COO and I would be driving a better car than him. My father thinks since I am single, I dont need a big car, rather a "fun car." Which is true like cracker said, I did consider the M3 since production has been extended but I've just owned two 3er back to back... I need a 3 break. My friend wants me to wear a chuffer uniform and drive her around! Ergo, pushing for the Li. Just curious, what do people say about you and your 7er? Cheers, Chris |

You can always import one of the new 3-Series Li models from China and enjoy the additional rear legroom - thus you'd heed the warning of the CEO at the same time

Yes, the M Sport Pack makes for a more distinctive exterior.
Unfortunately, you can't combine the two in the U.S. Best of luck and please do keep us posted! |

individual individual individual...
you can always buy m-bumpers for your INDIVIDUAL at a later stage -just make sure to order the roll-stabilization option in whichever 7 series you buy. |

Thanks for the support all. In the end I ended up getting a 2013 M3. I think my monthly may be close to a 7er as the M rates are high.

im in my early 30s and single too, driving a 740Li, but if i'd do it all over again, ill opt for my first choice (panamera) or buy a 6GC or M5.
if you really want a 7, id say go for the short wheelbase MSport |

Im 31 and blessed to have both an M3 and a 750. Either way you can't go wrong. Both cars are absolutely amazing.

I think you should get what YOU want, too many people are held back from being happy because what others think.
