911 turbo S BEATS the 458 Speciale with no technical support (EVO)
Ferrari sends a 458 Speciale with a team of engineers, laptops, extra sets of tires and gets beaten by a 911 Turbo S on its first lap...and by good margin.

I'm shocked Ferrari agreed to the test, and they didn't even threaten the car's owner!
Ferrari is the badge, the history, and the mystique. Leave the go fast to somebody else. BTW, 2.6 to 60mph? Jeeperz. |

I think I'd still take the upcoming McLaren 570S over a Turbo S, as I'm not a huge porsche fan like most people on here, but that's just me.

Nice to see that even with less hp and more weight, the GT luxury turbo S can beat Ferrari's lightweight track beast.

Not sure why u r surprised an all wheel drive car beats a incredibly tail happy rear wheel drive car. The GTR has been doing it for years. Here's a little experiment. Turn on any GT3 review and any Speciale review .. Mute the videos and just watch the drivers excitement and expressions while they drive both cars. You can even mute Porsche fan boy Chris Harris' videos and watch just how much more excited he is when driving the Speciale.

The 458 is amazing. I am a Porsche fan myself and I have so much respect for the Turbo S and its performance. If I could have either (for free) I would chose the 458. But I would not be cross shopping the two as the 458 is much more expensive to buy and own (the upkeep costs for any ferrari are much higher than for a Porsche). Another enjoyable Evo vid though!

Can't wait until the Porsche 988 or 960 comes out (mid engined halo car) which is going to leave Ferrari scratching their heads more than they are now. I'm sure a bunch of them are jumping up and down in anger knowing the turbo S just beat its most hardcore track car. You're indeed correct. Only thing beating a turbo S on the current market are hypercars. |

Cars are not miracles as the other member said in the other thread, they are just the result of variables. If the new Honda Civic-R is as fast as the M4 around the N-Ring, and it only a ~300 PS FWD, what about a >550 PS AWD? |
