Anyone with astigmatism have recommendations on a red dot? My right eye used to be the better of the two, but after I had lasik my right eye astigmatism got worse.

Looking for something for a 5.56 AR pistol, 1x, and not bulky.

I've been looking at the Vortex Spitfire AR and the Vortex Razor 3MOA. Reviews say the Spitfire is great for astigmatism, but I like the low profile of the Razor. I have a Strikefire on my DPMS rifle and it's been great, but I do notice my astigmatism with it.

I've heard the Holosun red dot sights are great for people with astigmatism. Similar footprint as the Trijicon RMR and offers solar and a "shake awake" feature.

I use the Sig Sauer Romeo series red dots. The dot is crisp and the glass is pretty clear. It works well with my astigmatism.

Holosun manufactures the Sig Sauer Romeo red dots. We get an LEO discount from them and their warehouse is a mile from our station.

I have a 2011 Staccato C2 DUO. That was more of a YOLO purchase though.

Love my Staccato P and C2. But never carry them.
I’m looking into a Wilson EDC X9 for a “1911”ish carry gun.
Was looking at a Springfield EMP but they burned me when they discontinued the 911 and still let me order extra mags for it with the gun. I got the extra mags and they still haven’t told me the 911 was discontinued. At least they didn’t charge me for the gun.

I finally was able to pick up my new Geissele SD rifle today. I've already outfitted it with a scope and other crap. Ordered some offset Troy BUIS for it tonight.

Also took my new HK VP9 and Kimber Rapide Dawn 1911 to the range last weekend. What fun that was. I still need to fire my new Kel-Tec RDB lol

Picked up my Obsidian Arms 5.56 pistol. Stamp submitted for the can. Going to run a Dead Air Sandman-S. Still unsure what I want do to for a red dot, but tonight I'm going to the range with a buddy who has a Holosun and a 3x magnifier, so we will see how that looks with my astigmatism.

I picked up a new Toy last weekend. Nothing high end but American made. 45 ACP. came with a 9 round mag but I ordered 2 20 round. One thing I'm doing is getting rid of the cheap sights and putting on a Red Dot.

sorry missed the post earlier. we're issued RM01 red dots at work and the auto adjust sucks for my astigmatism. I barely passed the red dot instructor course because of my astigmatism. I replaced it with the RM06 and adjust it to as dim as possible and I have no issues.

I guess I could get glasses.

I had lasik over 20 years ago and a touch up 7 years ago. No longer a candidate for anymore touch ups.

I considered the LASIK/PRK route but decided against it due to the rapid decline friends/partners have experienced after 8-ish years. The touch ups were also cost prohibitive. I just stick with glasses/semi rigid contacts or I just go without either.

I went to Cleveland Clinic for it way back when because they were offering discounts for first responders and free lifetime touchups. My corneas could only do one touch up. I couldn't do contacts. I'm glad I was authorized to get the adjustable RMR to help with my astigmatism. Vision is still holding good. Just got to make it 391 more days.

So I'm of the same mindset where I see clients who are close to (or in) retirement and I think "Man, I still have 20 more years to go before I can hope to be in a situation where I can retire"...and it feels a little depressing sometimes.

But then I also flip it and think, wait - am I really hoping all those years go by that quick and I'm that much closer to the grave? I don't know...flip flop back and forth, but I find thinking about death helps reframe whether I really want those 20 years to pass quick.

That's an interesting perspective to consider. I'll have to ponder that for a bit.

Despite the price I've heard really good things about their reliability. Enjoy !

Carry the C2. It's meant for that. I sell a lot of Staccato. I find the grip more ergonomic then the EDC X9. Fits my hands better anyway.

The XC now comes with the new grip and bag. Just saying 😁

I don't carry my C2 DUO. I probably should…..but it was a YOLO purchase. I carry my Sig P365 most of the time off duty; my full size M&P 9mm on-duty…….and everything else in between
