My local dealer installed 8.5 in my 2023 i7 during a service appointment for something else. They didn’t even ask me. It is definitely much better than 8.0, especially in terms of climate control. I also like the Home Screen better.

Have been impatiently waiting since July. Have an appointment booked this Thursday where I’m hoping they apply the latest ISTEP version .

If you tell them you are having problems with idrive, like carplay disconnect, and you ask nicely by suggesting that it could be a software issue, they will (or should) update you to 8.5.

My dealer told me you will not be able to updrade from 8 to 8.5.

A lot of us already have. Your dealer is wrong. Unless what he is saying is that 8 to 8.5 is not going out OTA.

You are partially correct, based on production date of vehicle. Some can update to 8.5 and some can not due to hardware differences.

No clue but my friend production date was 10/22 and he had it updated at the dealer.According to previous post all G70 gets it

My build date was 12/22/22 and I was upgraded to 8.5. All G70 sounds logical.

quick question non thread related:

to use the remote control parking:
1) do you also have to have the phone vertical/horizontal for activation?
2) can you also only move forward and backwards, no steering?

FYI the .53 version is different than the version installed by my dealer a couple of months ago. My car did not receive the OTA until today.

I wonder if there are different versions for different variations. Mine is a ‘23 760xdrive.

The dealer installed 07/2023.53 a few weeks ago. My i7 has not received any further indication of OTA upgrades available.

I just received notification in the app last night for an update to -7/2023.67. I have it downloaded and transferred and will be installing it tonight.

I think there are more versions than we think. When I downloaded 7/2023.58, it crashed my car with all sorts of problems.

I took it to the dealer and I now have 11/2023.20.

I don't see any differences but everything now works.

I completed software version update 07/2023.67 yesterday.

Update went well, eventually. Several features took about 45-60 mins to 'fall into line' - I say that as it took a little while for a few features (touch spots on the center console) to return to proper functionality. I like it all now. Better home screen. Climate control info on the homepage is better. A little better nav page graphics.

So I have the .67 software update, as specified on 'MyBMW' App. I cannot see what I drive version I have. Is 8.5 folded into this?

I think it was impressive how this update came to my phone while I was at home (via home wifi?). Then transferred from phone to car via Bluetooth - required about 45-50 mins while I was driving. I do not have internet set-up in my 760 (by choice). After the Bluetooth transfer to the car, the car needed to be parked for 20 mins to install. Again, after 20 mins and messages saying the update was complete, a few things were not quite as I desired....but after about 45-50 additional mins, they returned to the setup I had prior to the update. I was head-scratching on these few things, but am now smiling.
