Production Week 44 status anyone?
My vehicle's build was finished on November 1st, and its status has been at Awaiting Carrier Assignment since November 2nd for 6 days now. BMW Genius is saying it has left the factory. If so, then it should show either "dispatched from the factory" or "at the port"?
Waiting begins....... |

My i7 M70 (week 43 build) has been at the port (Bremmerhaven) for about a week now.

There is typically a couple of days delay from when the vehicle departs the port to when it gets listed as being on a ship...and BMW uses several different shipping companies...
BUT, there is a decent chance that any USA bound cars currently at the port might be on one of the following W&W ships (if they haven't already been loaded): Don Pasquale (departing 11 Nov) Arc Independence (departing 14 Nov) Morning Carol (departing 14 Nov) I only searched the W&W schedules and I simply used Bremmerhaven to Brunswick (as I am doing a PDC delivery) https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules

My i7 M70 has been at the port for a while now as well. She's been there since Oct 31. About 2 weeks. This is not unusual. There are a couple of W&W ships departing now from Bremmerhaven. I'm betting my car will (or is) on one of them: - Don Pasquale (departing 11 Nov) - Arc Independence (departing 14 Nov) - Morning Carol (departing 14 Nov) Relax, savor the wait! ;-)

I get it...
My car went from "Waiting Assignment" to "At the Port" in about 5 days. Now its been sitting at the port for almost 2 weeks. Maybe they are running out of room at the port? ;-) But these steps (Factory to Boat) are also the "softest" with respect to reliable timelines. I think it also took my car almost 2 weeks to go from 150 to the paint booth... Don't worry, once it gets on a boat, its all pretty much downhill from there... (However, sometimes there are also holds at the VPC for updates and certifications. I had an M6 stuck at the VPC for almost a month as the new vehicle model had not formally passed emissions certifications...) Hang in there! It'll all be good in a couple of weeks!

I just got word that my car is on the Donington (K-Line). Looks like the ship left Bremmerhaven on 11/15 (as scheduled) and is currently in Zeebrugge. Its scheduled to reach Brunswick on Nov 28.
Note that BMW online still shows my car "at the port". I expect the genius line simply reports from the same info. As previously indicated, the online info is typically a couple of days behind...

The Genii are usually a day ahead of on-line at this stage of the production process. And don't panic when the car "reverts" to "at the port" when the boat docks. They haven't figured out a way to distiguish between the originating port and the destination port.

For what its worth, my car is STILL showing "at the port" when it actually left Bremmerhaven on the 15th on the Donington (K-Line)...

Did you find that out from your CA or by calling Genius? Mine changed to at the port November 3rd which appears close to your date.

I have an inside contact at BMWNA. (She originally helped me walk my custom M4 order backwards from Garching/Munich -> BMWNA -> Dealership in 2015). She also stepped up when my sales advisor was clueless as to why we could not get ZMQ added to my i7 M70 order (and when we might be able to do so). She actually hand built (reconstructed) the allocation over the phone with me. She even pro-actively contacted me last week to let me know my car was on the boat and which one! She is like GOLD.
I'm not going to throw her into the whirlwind here, but BMW has "VIP Ordering Specialists". No one seems to know that these folks exist. Not the dealers and not the genius line. Out of curiosity, I asked her if she works primarily with customers or sales advisors and she says she works directly with both. I don't want to expose her contact info (for obvious reasons) but its pretty simple to locate the group. I originally found her (2015) via a couple of friends I have at the PDC. BTW - BMW online garage is still showing my car "at the port" this morning (although it departed on the 15th). I decided to call the Genius line to see if they are just looking at the same info (and give the same status). They told me my car was "on the way to the dealership". (So much for that). I told them that wasn't possible, and after a little pushback, he was able to confirm it WAS on the boat and which one. So the Genius line DOES have access to better info than the Online Garage but you might have to push a little harder to get accurate details. The "online" status of my car (BMW Garage) has been wrong now for 5 days... FYI: I think the thing that qualifies you as a "VIP" is merely that you can locate these folks. (Hint: Its really not that hard...)

FYI: For anyone who's keeping score...
My car finally shows "In Transit" in the online "BMW Garage". It took 6 days for the online garage to catch up. (My car actually departed Bremmerhaven on the 15th) IOW: Don't be sad if your car still shows up "at the port" - cause it might not be!

Looks like the Donington finally made it across the pond. She came into Baltimore last night. Next stop is Brunswick where my M70 will get unloaded at the VPC for a PDC delivery...
Did anyone else end up on the Donington?
