Change photo on screen?
I was in my friends new x3 and he had a personalized photo on his display screen. He said the dealer did it for him. Can anyone advise how to do it in a 2025 i7 with software update level 11/2025.5?

Did you get this to work?....a personal picture on the screen.
I don't see anything in the BMW app that supports this.... Unless you mean the profile pic in the My BMW app....is that the one you reference? Because that works. It'd be cool if we can select our own pic to show while in iDrive mode. Can that be done? |

If so, I’d be curious to know how the dealer changed the car photo on that X3. |

Side topic, but in my view, this is probably one of very limited advantages of ID9 over ID8.5. The reason am glad that the 7 runs on ID8.5 is that ID9 now is only for BMWs that have fully eliminated the physical controller and switched to primarily touch and voice-driven functionality. You can't add physical controller to ID9. I do not want to lose the physical controller in the central console and am not excited at all for the facelift cause I know ID10 (or IDX as they call it) will have the same issue just like many other cars today. I only use the rotary knob in my current 7 and rarely ever use the touch screen. Interestingly ID9 looks almost the same as ID8.5, but it's cheaper to implement with less or no physical controllers. This is why you only see it on the entry lineup like X1, X2 and X3, as well as the 1 and 2 series. ID9 ideally should have been labeled as ID8-lite. Even the android base system, while nice, was cheaper to develop. The system was designed from day1 and intended strictly for lower-end BMW vehicles |

![]() I have a 2026 (built Dec ‘25) Series 7 operating on 8.5 right now. This feature is NOT available as shown on the YouTube video. ![]() Rats!! BMW, are you listening? This looks like an all software feature. It should be easy to implement on the other systems like 8.5 so why not? I’m sure a LOT of users would like this - I would! Please plan on it for a future release….. |
