BIMMERPOST Web 2.0 Thread (Bugs, comments, suggestions, new requests)

Two more. After submitting a reply, it takes me to the top of the page. Kind of odd. It used to keep its place.

The textbox in the DM screen scrolls past the point where you can see the Send/Cancel buttons if you put too much text in there.

Using Firefox for both issues.

Maybe I'm stupid but I can not figure out how to unsubscribe to a post. For that matter, every post I go into, already subscribed or not, all I see is a greyed out Subscribe button on the top right that does nothing when I click it. Tried on Safari and Chrome with the same results. Tried to find an option from inside the post and from the "Subscriptions" link.

Ok, while I was writing this I found it by pure chance. The problem was, at least in the Subscriptions link, that when in Dark Mode, you can't see the "..." on the right hand side. Well, I can now but barely and only because I know it's there. Attaching a screen shot.

Still confused by the greyed out Subscribe button in posts.

sometimes when i click on one of the replies or appreciations in my Notifications list, i get an Error 404 message. note this doesn't happen all the time, but this never happened before this latest update to the BimmerPost website

True. To be honest, it’s a placeholder that’s there to remind be to build it’s function out. My todo list is long but it’ll start working soon 👍

I experienced a glitch in the box for “Submit Post”. It’s weird. I must tap the box in order to put my curser there (I’m using an iPad). If I tap in the extreme Northwest or Southwest corner of the box, it re-directs me to some other forums. For example, once it re-directed me to the 2addicts forum. Another tap re-directed me to the F22 forum. Another time it re-directed me to the G50 forum. But if I tap the center of the box, it puts my curser there and works OK.

Hi guys, i dont know where else to put this put i cant PM people. If i click send, i get the timed error messege saying i dont have the permission. Any advice?

I made some changes and it hit me, are you using dark theme? I think in dark theme the bold wasn't working correctly. if so, I made some more changes and see if the bold is more obvious or even good?

i read BimmerPost both via website on my MacBook (i use Chrome) and via app on my iPhone. truth be told, they don't "speak to each other well" regarding the viewing of notifications. following are a couple examples:

• after reading Notifications on the BimmerPost website, the # of Notifications still appears on the BimmerPost app. note the messages are no longer listed (as expected), but the number on the bottom of the app indicating the amount of notifications still shows. i have to "Delete all" to remove that number
• some new notifications on the app's notifications list are not showing on the website's notifications list. currently i have one new notification that posted @3:15am; it's on the app's notification list but not the website's notification list (note it has not been read yet)

i've mentioned the following issue before, but nobody acknowledged it:
i sometimes get an error page when clicking on a new notification on the website (see screenshots). after a few seconds, i'm automatically brought to the general BimmerPost home page. i had 2 new notifications on the list; it happened after clicking on both, and of course, i was never taken to the posts those notifications referred to. this issue started recently with the new website version

From the notification screen, before you open the link, can you right click the link and show me what it exactly is? you've cleaned out all your notifications so I cannot see the bad one

Sorry for the delayed reply, did not realize you posted a message. I went to the BMW X3 (G01) / X4 (G02) Forum and clicked on a few threads. The visited threads did unbold when you returned to the page (back) and then reloaded the page. Also the thread you were visiting is underlined when you go back to it, this helps you see where you were. Hope this gives you some idea from my end, still using Brave and a MacBook Pro all with the latest updates (same as what I reported to to you earlier in this thread.) Thanks for the help.

I would say "yes," it is easy for my eyes to notice the unbolded thread, nice fix you performed from your end (+1). Plus, I am in dark mode.

will all the signatures be removed with this new roll out? Or are they not showing bc it's just the beta test platform? I would assume that is the case otherwise you could lose a lot of sponsors if signatures are removed.

Glitch#1: I mentioned previously that simply touching the left side of the submit screen directs me to the F44 wibsite and 2Addicts website. It actually just did that 2 seconds ago, now, while I’m typing this very post. I’m using an iPad in portrait orientation.

Glitch#2: I recently found that clicking the “appreciate” button it also directs me to the 2Addicts website. But that’s only if I’m the first one to appreciate a post. If 2 or 3 other people already appreciated a post, then my click works OK. Really weird. Im using an iPad in portrait orientation.

Glitch#3: Lastly, the “Submit Post” button sometimes gets hidden (disappears) behind the options window, in IPad portrait orientation.

Thanks for the reports, im going to work on all of these right now

#1: is this happening only when you are in the editor or are you saying it's happening anywhere, say for example reading a thread or viewing the forum list? Im truthfully having a hell of a time replicating it so any clues you can give me how to reproduce it (or even show a picture?) would help a ton. One possibility is that you are seeing an older cached version of the site, if you can goto an incognito window and load the site and login there and the problems are still there, then its a real problem

#2: I have a feeling it has nothing to do with the appreciate button and is somehow linked to #1, so solving #1 is key

#3: Do you mean it's under the on screen keyboard but you can scroll the page up and then see it? If so I can try to have the submit button fixed to the bottom so its always visible above the keyboard, but that would mean losing editor real estate for when you are typing your post, but it is possible to do

Will the content width ever be clamped to a max width? On an ultrawide monitor, the posts are way too wide unless I limit the browser width. It's somewhat of a first-world problem, but it's annoying if a post has images. The image will always be full width, and it makes browsing the page difficult. At the very least maybe a max dimension on the width of the images would be helpful, I think, unless theres already a reasons for why. this layout was chosen.

Just the images or the text too? Im open to suggestions if you already know of a good number/amount

The size of the field in the Classified section. Huge space for the price and tiny space for the description. Maybe swap them?
