Interesting backdrop to your photo, do you live in some kind of 17th century house ?

test drove a 750i and 750Li two days ago. they're loaded with so much tech. infinitely better than the e65. my main problem with the exterior is how red the taillights are. in direct sunlight they don't have much detail to them, and the new wavy LED bars don't stand out as much as the current (i guess "old" now) straight bars.

I got one as well; I was very very impressed. I guess the small amount of money to publish and mail these books is minimal considering when they launched a vehicle in these current economic times.

Xdrive50i - to be sure; You didn't do ED correct? You just placed an order, and are following the process until it arrives, correct?

That is correct. Even though I would love to go back (used to live in Germany many many moons ago), I just don't have the time right now. Which is sad because this would have been the perfect opportunity to go see old friends, have a nice vacation and pick up the car all at the same time .... Oh well...

Regarding the book - It suckaroos to me because it does NOT include the Individual Colors and Leather Options. That was a disappointment. Otherwise very nice book! I have two also, GOt one thru mail, and requested a second at the dealer where I ordered my car. Putting it on eBay :0) |

As I said, I would LOVE to do ED, just don't have the time right now. As far as I know, they normally do not include the individual selections in the standard brochures. I just got my copy (Canadian Version) about two weeks ago too and it does not include any individual information either. They told me that BMW may not even print any individual material anymore but that there seems to be customer interest in it and hence they are trying to push to get BMW to print an individual brochure for the 7 series. If you consider how much money it costs to organize, print and distribute these kind of brochures, I can understand BMW's point of view. Especially considering that most people only have one look at it and then it probably ends up getting tossed out anyway! I wouldn't mind if they would offer an electronic version (PDF) online that includes high resolution images. BMW Canada was kind enough to provide me with such a version about a month and a half ago (although the resolution is still to low for my taste). Unfortunately, since this is a BMW internal document, I can't distribute or post this here.

The Welt experience was memorable. I did it over two days. First day was to explore the Welt and the museum. A couple of days later I went back for the car delivery and the factory tour. By the time you finish all that, you're hungry and the food in the restaurant was quite good (plus they give you a 15 Euro credit for the restaurant and 10 for the gift shop). With all that I did, I didn't leave the Welt 'till after 3:30 (arrived for the pick at 9:20). The Welt is stunning!! I met some people from other BMW forums, none from 7post, though.

I ordered my 750Li in early March for ED in late April. Shortly after I ordered the car, (1) I was invited to a BMW "event" at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, (2) I was invited to hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at a fancy restaurant, followed by premium seats at the SF Symphony and a champagne reception with the conductor, and (3) the hard cover book. Nice, but not really necessary. I already ordered the car...
