Unfortunately BMW has no answer to this...
Autocar released quite favourable review of the new A8 4.2 TDI. Although the car itself it rather ugly (no match for 7 series), I am very disappointed the Audi has far superior engine which enables the A8 go like a stink.
0-60 in 5 sec flat ...the A8’s performance is frankly preposterous. Making full use of its all-wheel drive system, that 590lb ft of torque and its army of tightly stacked gear ratios, it hits 60mph in 5.0sec flat and 100mph in 13.0sec, numbers you’d have needed a supercar to match 10 years ago. It is the fastest-accelerating diesel car we have tested, and by a huge margin. In EU, a performance diesel in top class used to be important and not having V8 rumble under the hood is frannkly disappointing. I wish BMW was secretly working on a new V8 diesel... |

Altually, that is right.
I thought these were rumours, but it appears to be true. BUt it is only gonna be launched in 2011. I just hope they will match it with the new 8 speeder, not the old 6 speed ZF. |
