7 Series Midcycle facelift (LCI) coming soon?
By all accounts, the F01/F02 7 Series has been a success for the company in terms of sales. 2012 will mark mid cycle of the lineup and according to BMW insider Scott26 the top of the line car will get a few slight changes to bring it into line with the rest of the range. The updated car would be termed an LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) model.

It's not really that surprising... The F01/F02 was introduced at the end of 2008 beginning of 2009, so the 2012 face-lift is in-line with all the other models getting a face-lift within the 3 to 4 year cycle!

The previous model E65 has been exactly 7 years from september 2001 untill september 2008. This model was restyled in april 2005. If we copy this carreer to the current model, then this means that the restyling will be in april (autumn) 2012 and the end of his carreer will be in september (fall) 2015.

The last LCI 7 series model was a huge improvement (at least in terms of design) over the normal version.
When we look at the other brands luxury models we can observe a very good new A8 and XJ and also a new S that will come in the near future. So BMW must do the homework very well to be able to mantain its position as high as possible in this very exclusive segment |

I don't see a major facelift for the F01 like the last generation 7 series. The 2002-2005 7 series took A LOT of heat as being ugly, etc. I think that is why BMW did some major re-hauling on it for 2006-2008. It didn't look anything like any of the other BMW's at the time the 2002 7 series came out. The 7 series is now a lot more in line with the other BMW models....so I'd expect small changes....the 2006 change was almost like a new body style change altogether as much as you will see from a car maker.

Did not even realize that was going to another site, looks like it might have been a staging site before they released changes to the site ? So this month the 2011 7 is going to change to 2012.

What about the camera package? Will that be coming back, or is it gone forever?
