Stop Guidance - Nav diff than HUD
So, when I stop guidance to a location in the Nav, it continues to guide in the Control Display and the HUD. Talked to dealer, they're not sure why. Am I not "canceling right"?
Thanks-

Does the system keep going with the exact same navigation instructions once you instructed it to stop the guidance ?

make sure you've not just stopped the wifey talking and left the visual directions on.

ok, I just went out and started guidance (arrow came up) and stopped (arrow went away) just like it was supposed to.
Wonder why it didn't work like that the other day? When the guy at the dealer said yesterday "if it keeps on doing it" I thought to myself "its a car, how could it be so inconsistent, it should either do it or not do it". Maybe BMW's can fix themselves?

If you use voice commands, the system will confirm whatever action you requested with a response. So if you requested that the system should stop the guidance, the system should respond with 'route guidance stopped'. If it doesn't, it either didn't recognize what you asked it to do or it may have misunderstood your request and did something else. But in that case it would confirm a different action. If it didn't stop the guidance but it recognized and confirmed it via the 'route guidance stopped' reply, I would assume your system has a software glitch and needs to be reprogrammed!
You said the 'guy at the dealer', was that a sales guy or a technician?

I have the same issue; sometimes when I cancel guidance the HUD arrow keeps displaying, othertimes it clears.
When the arrow "decides" to stay, have you tried setting a new destination? For example try using your Home shortcut (if you have set one) and then cancel guidance. The arrow thing doesn't really bother me so I can't remember if that works. What does work for sure is switching off the car and switching it on again... |
