Any difference between 2013 and 2014's
I went to test drive a M5 and ended up liking a 750 Li x drive .it just suited for the families needs better. The dealer was trying to push a 2013.He was saying the the M sport package was being thrown in for free with the 2013's.If the M sport was only a cosmetic package i wasn't impressed with it.Those wheels just look wrong on a 750li.I was wondering if there was any difference between the 13's and 14's.BTW does buying a 7 series make any sense?I was curious as the 7 series seems to have attractive lease rates too.I was just wondering if the majority of 7 series owners buy /lease the car.

the only difference is with the 2014 you get BMW's new DDIC(Digital Dynamic Instrument Cluster) and the new touchpad iDrive.
also regarding the M-sport, you get 2 wheel choices one being style 302M 19'' V-spoke and the other being style 303M 20'' double spokes Btw the M-Sport is free for the 14 models

Yea when you select it, it doesnt apply it but I've made sure because I noticed it on my build sheet and my dealer called me to tell me.

My question regarding lease vs Buy seems to be something no one answered.I was inclined towards leasing but wife seems to be interested in the buying proposition. I was wondering if buying a 2014 model[when the new model is coming out in 2 years] makes sense. The guys ordering 2014's...are you leasing or buying?.I just don't want this ti become a lease vs buy discussion. I have been through plenty of those.I was curious about the 7 series in particular as I assume the 7 series Clients tend to buy[than lease] their cars compared to 5/3 series.

Well financially when it comes to big cars like the 7er, A8 and Sklasse I lease, seems more sensible.
and on the other hand I bought my 5-series haha

I've heard most people lease the 7's. There are some advantages, for one, you do not end up paying the tax on the car -- and you can often make a deal on purchasing the car at the end of the lease, if it makes sense to do so. Generally the car would be worth less money than the residual in your contract and you can negotiate a sale price. You can also walk away and go with the next thing and let the bank absorb any depreciation. The problem with leasing is you're perpetually in a car payment, unless you buy at the end. If you're not sure you would want that car in a couple years (or a few, whatever the terms are) then you would lease because you give yourself the flexibility. I purchase personally, but I generally get a sweet enough deal, given incentives, free monies from BMW and BMW CCA and all that on top of the awesome price that my fleet guy (known for 9 years) gives me. No car is really worth shit 2 or 3 years after you've been using it anyway, so all depends on what makes the most sense for you.

Do the M sport versions come with a Different suspension or is it purely cosmetic?I would appreciate some info here. From what I read it seems to be purely cosmetic on the 7 series[unlike on 5 you get M sport suspension].

It's purely cosmetic now, back in 2010-2011 it came with ARS but was omitted in 2012.
In 2009 we had the Sport Package which included ARS and IAS but was dropped in 2010+ for the M Sport Package

edit: I understand its only available on RWD cars.I wonder why?So if thats the case I am pretty sure the Xdrive versions would feel cumbersome to maneuver in town. That's a bummer Last edited by luvthestck; 08-30-2013 at 10:00 AM.. |

Yes, both ARS and IAS are standalone options available on RWD models with ARS being available for the XDrive models as well.
Also ARS and IAS are not available to the AH7 due to having it do with the Hybrid/Gas drivetrain Regarding IAS for the XDrive models, it has to do with the awd system.
