Cold Weather Package / Ski Bag Q
Do cars that don’t have the Cold Weather Package – which includes a Ski Bag – still have a pass through opening from the truck to the cabin between the rear center seats?
Please advise. Thanks! |

Yes. The whole ski bag assembly is removable, and the pass through is still there. The only ones that don't have it are high end 760Lis, which have the refrigerator there instead.

Thanks, but I wonder if the pass through is present on cars not equipped with ski bags from the factory...

From what I'm seeing, the pass through is always there. It may just be covered with carpet and leather. Theres only 1 part number for a backrest frame, and its cut out in the center.
If you're asking if you can use it, I think that would require the cold weather package so you get the access door. |

I'm wondering if a car without the cold weather package (ski bag) can transport something long that would need to go from the trunk and pass through to between the two front seats...

Have you tried calling the BMW Genius line? They should be able to tell you for sure. They know like everything about these cars.

No pass through the carpet. Whats behind the armrest inside, just the piece of leather and a plastic block off? That could probably be removed and you could get the carpet with the cutout, but I don't think they make something to cover the hole besides the ski bag and coolbox.
That really sucks. Not getting the Cold Weather Package is a good way to save money. I did it on the 335GT because I never use the heated seats or wheel. |

And yes, forgoing the Cold Weather Pack is a good way to save. Unfortunately, I've used the pass through twice (not for ski's) and think I'd like to retain the utility; which is what's lead to these questions. :| |

Oh wow, I've never seen a blank wall like that. Here in Canada even without the cold weather package you'd have the pass through but I think they make the cold weather package almost mandatory here. I wonder though do those seats have the fold down ability? My 7 has the ski bag, but the seats do not fold down, while my M5 has no ski bag but the back seats can fold down. Its really nice I can get 2 sheets of plywood into the car, more if they aren't as wide as normal!

I have a 2013 750ix (in Canada). I have all the options yet the ski-bag was a $300 option. Its not included in the cold-weather package. My car was a demo and it wasn't one of the options on it. It baffled me why its just not included in any of the packages.
