*Here It Is Folks: 2016 7 Series/g11 Fully Revealed!*
2016 BMW 7 Series fully exposed. Front end styling is a combination of the F30 and X5. Rear styling is clean and sleek with integrated exhaust outlets as seen on the test mules. Sporting optional laser headlights on this pre-production display model. LED lighting will be standard, with laser lighting as an optional upgrade.
The G11 next gen 7 series will be built on BMW's new module platform and feature the B family of engines. The chassis will borrow heavy from the BMW i3 and i8 for weight savings. The interior has the latest iDrive with a touch screen. The full details are expected to come out before the Geneva Auto show. In Geneva BMW will pull the wraps of this next gen 7 series officially. Well.... I can honestly say that my NEXT car won't be the G11 unless there is something super special under hood or something else that these pics aren't revealing...? Wow... I am VERY disappointed but actually NOT surprised as the camouflaged G11 floating around for a while looks like this dimensionally. The BIGGEST disappointment for me is that it looks like a facelifted F0! That dash looks damn near identical except for the steering wheel. I do like the headlight and tail light design. But again... That is to be expected from a "Face Lift" not a complete redesign from the floor up like the new S Class. |

Do not like. Then again, I wasn't thrilled with the F01/02 either when they first came out, and even when I bought one it needed styling help. Thankfully, we don't need to look at the car when we're driving it, so as long as the interior and drivetrain are good, it doesn't matter what the outside looks like. I truly believe that. Why else would I be driving an F34?

The f02 cockpit is slick at night. In fact, the f2 interior looks like a different car from day and night. It looks like bmw is back to that retro "can't have no buttons" styling. I use every one of my programmable function keys in my f2 and the G11 has even less! Plus, the CD/DVD slot in the dash makes the car last look dated. When was the last time we used CDs? That Idrive screen is dumb looking. It's too fat for starters so it also looks dated. Th f2 has a beautiful screen integration. You can tell that bmw is striving to have the G11 share the same interior as the new 5 series. We are went from same sausage, different length to same sausage altogether. Finally, the F01/F02 looks like the next evolutionary step; thus to me, it looks like the F2 evolved from the G11. BMW what were you thinking? Where's the pizazz? |

So underwhelmed. It's literally a beefed up 3 series. Hate the rear lights. The thing I've always liked about the 7 is the taillights always looked different than the others. Interior is not even close to the level of a new s class. Total fail in my opinion. Hoping it looks better in person

This whole, "iPad as a NAV Screen" thing the Germans are doing is just stupid as hell. Do they honestly think not integrating the screen into the dash is cool or some shit?

I think we should reserve our judgements until BMW actually unveils this car officially. I don't trust the legitimacy of these photos. This car looks like it was abandoned in a warehouse somewhere to rot. Although I must agree I hate the direction they are going with the screens popping out of the dash. Looks awful and cheap. +1 on the steering wheel, I really like it, looks really futuristic! It reminds me of the steering wheels on my wifes MDX.

F01/2 taillights are just amazingly good looking at night. I had the chance to drive behind my 7 series few times and just WOW. They have such a road presence. The back of the new one reminds me too much of an audi

AGREED!!! I notice things like tail lamps at night and our car is among the nicest and most distinctive with the "tubular LED" design.
