Thinking of a 2012 750i xdrive
Hi all,
I'm thinking of a 2012 750i xdrive with 78,000 kms on it. Of course I'm going to do my due diligence and get a proper PPI done independent of the bmw dealership. If an extended bmw warranty exists, I will certainly get it. But I wanted to know from your experience how reliable this car is ? What are the common problems ? Are there specific years to stay away from ? I have one mechanic friend who says this is a horrible car and it will be in his shop regularly ? and go towards an audi. But I'm really not an Audi guy after owning a older m3. Aside from basic maintenance (oil, fluids, brakes) , do I need to do anything to make it a bullet proof daily driver ? Or on the flip side of the coin, do I walk away from a car like this ? Thanks for any suggestions.. |

Go for 2013 and after.
It is not a horrible car at all. It is a very reliable car. The most important thing is "How do you treat It!" After all, I will go for an in-line 6 with twin scroll turbo. BMW put this engine on every single perform. |

I love my 2012 F02. I have had very little minor issues. I currently have 42k miles and the care was well maintained during the initial warranty period. With that being said it is a BMW and honestly, anytime you buy German, you better be ready to cover some costs if needed. I have owned them all and don't feel like any brand is better than another. They all have issues, it happens, just pay for it and move on.
