Looks like the most powerful BMW is an M-lite! 3.7 to 60 in a two tonne luxobarge; yikes!
I'm sure the M obsessed lunatics will ignore it but the "pretend M" division sure is knocking out some great cars. Fast but comfortable, powerful but practical. |

But 125 is about what CTS-V traps, which is lighter and got more power. Z06 between 126-127. M5 CP traps around 122-123. It's just hard for me to believe the 760 will trap 125+, in fact I will bet it won't.

Adding in the frontal area, coefficient of drag, resistance from the tires, and drivetrain loss, brings the calculation down to 3.31 0-60, 3.55 0-62mph, 11.58@125.2mph, top speed drag limited of 212.4mph. It's limited electronically for top speed (the M760i and B7 rely on ground effect) as they are very loose at high speed and rely on DSC to keep things under control. The B7 of will trap approx the same time but with a lower velocity. The ability to reduce drivetrain loss at speed is one of their tricks. |
