Hmmm... good to know. My display key has decided to stop charging. My iPhone charges fine in the wireless sleeve, but the key doesn't charge. The blue light turns on when I insert the key into the charging sleeve, but the light goes out immediately after insertion.
Does anyone know if there's a way to re-set / reboot the key? Maybe the software isn't talking to the charging hardware anymore. A reboot could fix it, but I don't know how to do that. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until I go in for my first service appointment to get it sorted out.

I'm assuming he means the Samsung tablet in the rear armrest.

Closing the loop here. I took my car in for service today -- nothing mechanical -- and handed the service advisor my display key. No one there could figure out why it won't charge anymore, so they're ordering me a new one. It'll be in sometime early next week. The primary reason I took the car in for service was because there's a squeak that's started someplace between the glass of the panoramic sky lounge LED roof, and the headliner. It's driving me NUTS! Sounds like two pieces of rubber rubbing against one another. Anyway, they found the problem, and are in the process of replacing the rubber seal around the interior of the sliding glass roof. They're going to have the car for a couple of days.
Oh... and the Ultimate Benefits program for 7 Series owners actually works! When I called to make a service appointment, and said I'd like a loaner car, they quoted me a date two weeks from now, citing availability of loaners. However, when I told them I had a 2016 7 Series, they said "Oh, you should have lead with that!" They promptly scheduled a next-day appointment and when I dropped off my car, they gave me a 2016 7 Series loaner. it's just a base 740i, but it sure beats being wedged into a 2 Series!

Good to hear about the loaner, bad to hear about the roof replacement and being w/out your car for so long. I'm wondering if the new 7 will be one issue after another due to all the tech and inherent issues with new models. We have not seen too many issues but that may be more to do with BMW not selling many of the new 7's and not many being used on a daily basis to uncover such issues.
