When the car comes to a complete stop, it will restart when traffic moves. However, if the stop lasts more than a few seconds, an indicator will flash asking you to confirm the restart. You can use just about any ACC button to confirm the restart. Or, you can use the gas pedal---a light touch. The latest versions on the new 7 incorporate automated steering. A sensor checks to make sure you keep one hand (or finger) on the wheel. If you take your hands off the wheel, the damn thing will still steer (assuming good quality centerline and/or fog lines. After a few seconds a yellow warning wants you to put one hand on the wheel. After a few more, it turns red and auto steering disengages. ACC and auto steering are both beautiful software implementations. |
