Electronic-Like Wind-Up and Wind-Down Sound
Anyone have a faint electronic-like wind-up and wind-down sound from 0 – 25 mph and 25 – 0 mph? I don’t recall this previously!
Road tested with shop foreman; states it’s radial noise from the tires. Needless to say, been through many tires, never as apparent. Not sure how else to explain it. Sounds like a commercial airliner immediately before and after flying overhead, minus the roar and thunder; very mild, but annoying! If in fact the tires, any way to have them replaced under warranty? |

Long story short... after many transfer case replacements... noise still present and dealer now believes they've isolated the sound to the rear differential. The noise sounds to be coming from the front of the car, however!
Any way it's possible that noise from a rear differential can travel all the way through the drivetrain to what sounds like the front of the car!? Absolutely, definitely don't hear anything coming from the rear! Also, any thoughts on what might cause a rear differential to fail? Never had such a failure before. Thanks. :| |
