2020 BMW Alpina B7 / 7 Series LCI - Walkaround Video

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi All - filmed this at the Ultimate Driving Event.

I really LOVE the styling updates made with the LCI.
This Alpina B7 looks truly amazing in person!

The front headlights and larger grille give the 7 better road presence imo but still looks sporty, classy and modern. The rear lights are a cleaner design and just well integrated compared to pre-LCI.
Interior was just all luxury and top notch quality.

If you have the $$$ - Alpina B7 would be my top choice but even the regular 7 looks much better with this LCI update.

Also here is the new 745Le / 745e xDrive iPerformance plug-in hybrid.
This one has the BMW INDIVIDUAL Interior - Fiona Red/Black Full Merino Leather.

Funny I saw this same car at the ultimate driver experience in New Jersey. I worked a all nighter the day before so I decided to sleep in the back seat of these in between Laps 😂

Yep, out of proportion with the rest of the front of the car. Not a design statement, rather a design error. I know that great design can be about changing the rules and being radical. This, however, is visually unsettling because the proportions are so wrong. BMW design used to stand for elegant, sporty and conservative - no idea what it stands for today.

I'm pretty sure BMW designers know better than what we average normal people do.
Think Chris Bangle.

Think Chris Bangle.
There is ZERO excuse for the new Grills that have infected every series now..they look like previous gen Lincolns just with vertical fins.... It will not grow on us, if anything it will increase the resale value of previous series. We need to bring back drawn and quartering for the morons that designed that grill....it is the only fate they deserve...

Been saying the same thing. I'd even take a regular luxury model design and just do a chrome delete

Alpina may not be able influence BMW design process leading to disproportionate grill in the front (although I hope they tried) or for that matter the majority of the vehicle design elements. The Alpina wheels however are very distinctive and that's wha Alpina wants - to be quickly noticed.

Love the hate about the grills. Some serious triggered, unhinged people. I wonder the percentage of them are actually ever in the market for a 7er. Lol.

Nice, but floating rear calipers on a performance variant of their flagship uber-sedan?? Those ginormous discs are begging to be cross-drilled.

I think it simply looks bad in photos.. like many design elements on BMWs for the most part these days.

exactly..

The black sections on the front of the Z4, X2 M235, as well as black grilles on many vehicles appear to be odd looking black holes to the camera.

I wonder if the 7 design cues ever influenced the lower tiers...

Are you freakin kidding me?? Those grills are absolutely hideous!!!! It doesn't resemble a BMW in any way whatsoever now...closer to a Chrysler 300C without a doubt.

It’s not a design error. A design error would demonstrably effect the functionality in a negative way. And it’s not out of proportion, because there is such thing as ‘correct’ proportion between grill and other design elements.
