Those Russian River pinots are tough to beat, that's a fact. Noir, Gris, Grigio, all of them.

What other Irish Whiskey do you guys recommend?
I'm also a scotch guy.

I would recommend red breast 12 or Jamison black to get started on Irish whiskey and see if you like the flavor profile. I really like green spot or yellow spot a lot but don't think they are typical Irish whiskey flavors. Much more smooth and mellow vs spicy, sweet and strong which is what I look for in a typical Irish whiskey.

I'm sure that is more the age than the whiskey. Angels Envy bourbon is great for the $35 price point. The Rye is much more expensive but I have heard great things... sadly it is also much harder to find.

I have consumed 2 bottles of macallan 25. Bought in 99 and 2000 respectively. They were 325 and 375 each! Now 18 is damn near that high, I got it as low as 70 back then. I drink much cheaper now! I did get some dalmore cigar malt for Christmas.

I couldn’t believe when I found out you can buy a drivable used car for a bottle of 25 now.

I tried a 25yo recently at a relatively wealthy friends place lol... i have never drank a scotch this good in my life. Its extremely hard to describe the taste... its full flavored but still somehow smooth. Albeit like you say the price is nearly 2 grand.

Finished off two days of work on the wife's 335d.... exhaust pressure sensor, turbo outlet hose, brake rotors, pads, sensors, and a flush.
Decided to have some Hawaiian Punch and goose to celebrate being done.

Our go-to lately has been Moscow Mules. Just have to source the ginger beer, that can sometimes be hard to come by in our town. Last time I just bought a 24 to keep us in supply for a while.

I've been making my own ginger syrup lately and using that instead of store-bought ginger beer. I highly recommend trying it yourself. I use Greg Seider's recipe.

I'll look that up, thanks. Do you still use some other sort of beer to dilute or how do you prepare your Mules?

Edit: Ah, I see - club soda. Looked it up. Thanks.

Just sobered up and couldn't find this, thought the Mods finally killed it. Just in time finding it too - I was about 5 minutes from swearing off booze altogether and cleaning up my life.

I think this calls for a new bottle to celebrate - time to break open the case of Corryvrecken

Perfect timing! I’m glad that you resurrected it, saved me time from digging it up. I picked up a new bottle for the holiday weekend. I’ll crack it open soon.

This is a new one for me, figured it’s worth a shot. (Pun intended)
