This video shows the general idea, the actual menu item names are slightly different, but you should be able to work it out following this
https://youtu.be/eGpGJs5q4VA Make sure you are parked on level ground when you do this and stay out of the car. My first attempt left the back end sitting too low. |

Can I also please have the link PMed to for the ISTA+ installer? I am presuming correct this is not doable via BimmerCode?
Cheers

My setup for suspension by software made by myself, if someone is interested in helping, I will provide advice at NO COST !!! (the requirements are ista's own diagnostic program and the enet cable + measure tape)
Because it is a forum to help each other, not to monetize others seeking help "mrgicm" Filip "Regarding lowering the car, I can do it remotley. All you need is a Windows Laptop with internet connection and a enet cable. Car can be lowered as much as you like but my suggestion is a 2cm drop as that is optimum for looks and keeping the ride comfort. Price for remote lowering is 200eur. Please let me know if you have any questions Best regards, Filip" - mrgicm Sport and Comfort Last edited by LuckyW; 05-03-2021 at 06:50 AM.. |

This is no different than a mechanic charging to provide a service vs someone doing it themselves. Instead of folks PM'ing you, why not just post the step by step process here or in a new post. How does one obtain ISTA+ What hardware is needed to support ISTA+ What tools are needed Step by step process on how to lower the car via ISTA+ Thanks

I dont agree. If you search, Flip offers very specific help for free. He also offers this a service, which is great.
My example- Ive always had BMWs, ive always coded them myself. I lowered my e66 just last year using INPA. I for sure could have figured out how to code my g12 but decided id rather have flip do it. And im glad i did, because i didnt have to worry, he responsive, easy to work with and he knows what hes doing. Money well spent. But ive also seen him on here, giving very specific, detailed help to people that have gone down the rabbit hole themselves. |

I am keen on knowing how to do this, can you post up a step by step?
I like the suspension level of sport mode but prefer to drive around in comfort. Just looking to have the comfort setting sit at the same height as sport. |

Note: after taking the measurements, when you enter it into the software, you'll add to it to lower and subtract from it to raise it up. I went with 1".

I have to assume that lowering improves the aerodynamics and would contribute to better gas mileage. But if that is the case, why wouldn't BMW set the car's height lower out of the box? All of the car companies do lots of small things to help their fuel economy (like going to RFTs and removing the heavy spare), so why wouldn't they do this?

I didn't see my gas mileage suffer but then again, it wasn't something I was concerned with.

You could just readjust it by doing through the entire cycle again and even it out I imagine. If FL / FR = 692mm RL / RR = 672mm I imagine you should be able to leave one side as-is and drop the other down to match by adding the difference to your measurements. So if you want to match the front to rear, add 20mm.
