F01 750I Windshield Washer Pump Replacement
I believe the windshield washer pump went on my F01 750 as the washer fluid just comes out in a very small stream. Does anyone know where the windshield washer pump is located?
Is the job pretty much the same as it is the for E90? (video below)

Have you cleaned the washer jets (by sticking a pin into the washer jet hole to clear any hardened residue)?
The washer pump is #6 in the diagram below...and the headlight washer pump is #3 in the diagram below for a 2011 750i. The 2nd & 3rd pics shows how the main washer pump (#6) is on one side of the reservoir & the washer pump for the windshield (#3) is on the other side of the reservoir:

After removing the motor, I realized the filter surrounding it was clogged and their was all types of debris in the remaining washer fluid that came out. Im guessing there will likely be a similar issue with my F01 750 but I have no clue how all that debris got in there. I don't keep my washer fluid cap open.

I finally got a chance to take a look at this and my problem was the filter. I attached a before and after I cleaned it picture. I believe it got clogged because non BMW washer fluid was used. I flushed everything out of the tank, cleaned the filter, and installed a new pump since I was there.
I then used BMW washer fluid with distilled water and fluid began spraying from the nozzles again. Thanks for the diagram and it was pretty much the same procedure as the E90 video.

I did this exact job on the day I got my new to me F01 home. I was fortunate that I had a replacement Meyle pump in my garage already
The filters were absolutely clogged and the headlight washer pump dead Swapped them out, cleaned the tank and use OEM BMW washer fluid now. It's c£20 for 5l here in the UK, well worth buying as it's very concentrated and goes a long way! |
