Well I guess someone else finally caught on to the launch date... we have been saying that since April
All the other stuff came out at the same time so none of this is really new, except for the colors. http://www.bimmerfile.com/2008/04/28...ries/#more-226

I think we can expect to see something in the range of 550-580hp, as the high-end 7 series will face competition such as the RS6 and the new upcoming twin-turbo A8.
There's also a possibility of an M7, which i would really like to see |

Did people forget that the S600 is twin-turbo?
I think that's the prime target of the TT V12..

I was talking to a friend of mine who works with BMW and he has connection with people at BMW in germany. He mentioned that the 3.0 V6TT engine from X6 will be implemented in the next 7 series as a 740i/L model, and the 750i/L will get the V8TT. It sounds like there won't be another V8 engine, like they used to.
If you compare the current 740i V8 engine Max. output in kW (PS) = 225 (306)/6,300 The 3.0i X6 Max. output in kW (PS) = 225 (306)/5,800-6,250 both engines has similar output. This is indeed interesting information as I was figuring out BMW's new strategy of using turbo engines in their future sedans instead of the regular naturally aspirated engines. Could it be that the new TT engines are more efficient in terms of fuel consumption. what do you guys think? Last edited by XBMW6; 06-18-2008 at 08:26 AM.. |
