Touched up the rear. Subtle changes, but I think it looks much sharper.

Ok, I looked the movie and I saw all pictures and here is my final opinion.
First I must say that I really tried to like this car because I am a huge bmw fan but I simply don't want to love this car just because it's bmw. Firs of all I want to say that bmw was always a symbol of passion and speed. These cars were always elegant and sport looking. But this one has none of that. It's totally awkward, its shape is boring, and you fill no passion when you look at this car. We all expected that this new bmw 7 will look much better than old one weird looking E65. And although it looks better it's simply not good enough for bmw name. My opinion is that bmw should always be a symbol for a great and beautiful car and if we all are trying so hard to love this weird looking car than something is wrong. Today in my opinion bmw has big problems with design. We have good looking bmw 1 coupe but ugly sedan, we also have good looking e92 but ugly rear of the car on e90 series which will be face lifted soon. In my opinion best looking bmw is 5 series. Some of you might dislike this car but for sure e60 has a lot of passion and sports look. In suv and sav category we have good looking x5 and x6 but ugly x3 so basically ratio is 50/50. And this is for me disappointing fact. We all have to admit that this car is huge disappointment, it can be the best car in the world but for sure this thing is everything but beautiful. And finally I can accept everything but this front bumper is so ugly that in my opinion a group of kindergarten children would design it better. This car is a huge, gigantic disappointment. |

I dont quite love the car like you do though! The rear certainly looks 100% better in real-life shots like I knew it would. However, the lights look good when they are turned on. I wonder how they look when they are off. The front bumper is still disppointing. It lacks flow with the rest of the car. The side profile and interior are stunning. Like I said, it's an improvement from the current car which looks too bulky/heavy even though it doesnt blow me away...(yet (maybe)).

and just one more thing...if the grill wasn't designed so damn upright when you look it from the side this car would look much better...with grill positioned like this it looks like f... truck

The only thing I don't know if I like, till I see it in person are the "side gills". These are supposed to be integrated turn signals. Kinda look like missiles.

as a past E65 owner
I will say the new car in a total disgrace for BMW.
Lexus styling all over the place, especially the rear Interior from the X5 Engines from the X6 Styling a few steps back from the E65 Is this the best that BMW can do ? It is sad indeed. The 7er is suppose to be a technological tour de force and a milestone in car design instead of a mix and match from BMW's parts bin The E65 is to be surely missed compared to this monstrosity cheers

This car's exterior sucks because it's back end looks like a Lexus, the grill on the front is way too damn big, and it has these weird lights on the side which seem to just sit out in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, the interior is much improved. I have to say that I am generally quite fond of the design theme which BMW is using in its recent cars (X5,X6, and now 7). Considering that the interior is where one spends the majority of their time, two me it's more important than the exterior. I am especially eager to see the new instrument panel and idrive in person.

Sport Package - any news from BMW yet?
I know that the 4 wheel steering and dynamic control are part of the sport package. Any news from BMW on the aesthetic changes? I hope they do more than just the black out trim, monotone paint and wheels....

it's definitely grown on me the more i look at it.
the one thing i have to complain about is the blue gauges. so dumb. if they are trying to eliminate more iconic BMW things, they are succeeding. what's next...kidney grills?

Personally, I love the car and I think it's a beautiful evolution. It Looks very elegant and sporty...you will appreciate the design more from different angles when you compare it to the previous model, even to competitors like Lexus LS and Mercedes S. I think you can't judge a car just by seeing some photos .
The interior is best in its class, it combines luxury, elegance and it's more driver oriented in terms of the new layout. The exterior is elegant, modern and sporty. My only concern was the rear end design. It looked little odd when i first saw it, but later when I saw newer angle photos with the tail lights ON, I started to appreciate the design and the flow of the lines. I don't think it looks anywhere near Lexus. There maybe some hints, but that's normal now a days to see some similarities with so many car designs in the market. In terms of performance, I'm almost positive it will be best in its class and will set a new standards in driving dynamics and comfort. You can't judge a car by just seeing photos of it. You must see it in person and drive it, then make your judgement. I'm sure once all the reviews comeout, they will praise the car's design and superior performance just like every previous model. |

that sucks that all new BMW's are like this, the old ones like the e46 were shockingly beautiful since the beginning. I think after my lease is up, im moving over to Audi. And it sucks because i would have never even considered another brand besides BMW 6 years ago.

I'm glad they moved the shift lever back to the center console, but I'm disappointed to see that they are using the X5-style shifter. I am not a fan of these.

I have to respectfully disagree with most of you and say that I absolutely love it. I especially love the "gold" colored 750i w/the dual exhaust. Very nice. The interior is also amazing. I want one!
