2010 F02 Project Car
I got a really great deal on a 2010 750Li xDrive from my neighbor, only has 42,000 miles on it so I bought it as a project car. For how old it is, I am really enjoying it! This is what I've done to it:

Looking good, I have recently bought a 2015 730d and made similar mods to you:
15% tint at the back Dechromed everything Black grill New 10.25” Android 12 HU with CarPlay New M Sport steering wheel However, I can’t get a reversing camera without replacing the whole strip containing the boot lid latch. What did you do? |

Thanks NM20. So my camera is made specifically for the BimmerTech MMI that I installed. I had to take apart the trunk lid panels and drilled a hole to the right of the handle underneath and installed the camera. I also had to run the wire from the trunk to the glovebox where my MMI is. Because the camera runs through the MMI, there was no coding necessary. The nice thing is that it works with the iDrive so when i go into reverse, the camera pops up on my screen.

I sourced a camera that fits the shape of the cut out to the right of the bootlid handle, but didn’t dare cut it out. Have you got a camera that is a single screw, so only a small hole? Also, does it work with the parking sensors? |

It was a camera that I had to drill a hole as the size of the camera but the casing included covered any sign of drilling. I wasn't worried about the drilling, it was pretty easy and if I screwed up, I could always order another trunk latch housing.

BMW Milwaukee North! I'm right down the road in Whitefish Bay. Gorgeous car, although I wouldn't dare call it a project car, that's when unexpected issues come up.
If you want an OE rearview camera let me know - or need any other parts for an F02. I have a couple parts cars.

you need to put this new CCV catch can system on..
This is a project F02. ha Those are alpina intercoolers with Alpina turbos and coolant lines retrofitted to a non TU N63, we also pulled the motor, polished the intake, new seals inside and out, also Alpina turbos too, then a JB4 tuner and other smart moves. This is a forever car, they will bury me in this sled. ha Last edited by JellyStyle; 10-02-2023 at 10:34 PM.. |

custom M brake rebuilds for a F02 (had these rotors made custom)
RVG catted downpipes. and more to come ha, and yes, i build show cars for a living, this will be the only true M7 that existed, it will get presented to M group at BMW NA once done (its an m sport 750li but more on that is changing too) I'll try to find the port and polish we did, and why we made custom CCV system, to ensure it never burns oil again or sucks in vapor to the intake. a few more of the build, pretty jacked valves, that is what most N63s look like, once you put new seals and a CCV system, you will prevent that.
When we're all done, I will put together a new thread to show the transformation, hopefully inspire others to keep the F02 alive.. Next build is a e70 X5M that we will target 1k HP and make it reliable, fully forged motor and custom interior and exterior, that also is going to M Group to present.. |
