10.8@130 in my 2020 M760
Did just a JB4 install. Was complicated on this car but we made some impressive power numbers. It feels great. But can’t get past 16psi. So looking to do a backend ECU tune next. The map sensors are good for 22psi.
I think I’m going to go for a full engine build and see how far this platform can go I can’t find anyone that’s even broken 10s before. This was with an OK launch and 2200DA. So there’s more in it. Couple questions…. Anyone know the biggest tires this car can fit? I’m spinning them good now. The power is amazing. MPG sucks but isn’t too much worse than my M5 . Also is there a trick for launch control on this car? Although doesn’t really need it given how much lowend it has and it’ll goto 3k rpm foot braking. Goal is to get it into the 9s!

How’d you get the jb4 to work? I didn’t know they offered one for the M760. I’m considering a tune when my warranty is up but would love to add a jb4 in the meantime.
Can you just order a jb4 or did you work with Burger specifically? How was the installation? |

Thank you for getting this done
My CPO warranty is up in December, this may be a Christmas present to myself I have a 2019, any idea/discussion on compatibility? Should be 100% the same as the 2019/2020 changes were reportably just a different tune. My research indicates no one has really tried a standalone approach, and other tuners have only used a “stage 1” philosophy. Seems the transmission is the concerning factor due to high torque#’s, vehicle weight, and AWD. It’s only rated for 800#/ft. It is however the same trans as used in the hellcat variants, but those aren’t AWD. |

We’ll
My F90 m5 has 908awhp/1025tw on the 75 version of the trans. This is the 90 version. Much stronger. I haven’t worried about the trans. Pure works on em tho. A 2019 should be identical. Contact BMS they have the kits for sale now! Ok |

The M760 outweighs the M5 by almost half a ton = more (inertia) load on the trans. That is where my comment comes from. I believe it will last, but other tuners don’t feel real comfortable adding much more torque than 800 ft/lb. This motor is a torque monster. I would also guess the turbos will run out of “efficiency” past 1000 Hp, they were designed for low RPM fast-spool. In these situations more boost just makes more heat and not a lot more O2 volume. |

Yeah I will prob have to get bigger turbos. It does weight 1000lbs more but the 90 trans is a lot stronger than the 75 which is holding 1025ftlbs on my m5. That’s 200+ more torque than the v12 is making

M760 jb4 ride quality
I'm thinking about getting a jb4 for my 2018 m760. For those you've gotten one, I'm interested in whether you noticed any changes in ride quality (e.g., smoothness, etc.).

I was wondering more about ride quality related to the engine characteristics changing. For example, I saw a couple of reviews for jb4s in different cars (different makes/models) where the acceleration and shifts were more abrupt and non-linear, resulting in a ride quality that was described as "jerky" compared to the smoother stock ride quality.

Completely smooth…. I’ve had JB4s on tons of cars. Never felt that once at all. I’ve tuned my transmissions via obd2 to shift harder but the JB4 doesn’t do that |

By the way, in the 10.8 sec @ 130 run, what type of fuel were you running and what map setting were you on? |

Also, on those dyno charts, was that "Wheel HP", or was there a drivetrain compensation setting applied to those values? If it's true wheel HP, then the BMW ratings were grossly understated (as is common on some German cars). |

Great results - so is this going to be better than any of the current ECU flashes that are out there right now for the M760? Have been waiting patiently for the aftermarket to catch up to these. As for the trans - I would not worry about it, haven't really heard of anyone finding a way to blow up a 90 yet, especially not with a mild ECU tune.
I emailed Pure a long time ago about turbos but the conversation stalled. Would love to see someone give that a shot as well. |
