VIN decoder for options list
Hi all, I just noticed my favourite VIN decoder website no longer provides free searches (www.mdecoder.com)
I’ve used the site for a long time and it provided me a full list of vehicle options. Does anyone know of a working website? |

Yeah...looks like we're losing valuable sites. The other ones seem to be non-functioning, too.
Sometimes I've been able to get one of the sites to work if you use a different web browser than what you normally have been using. You might want to give that a try to see if you can get around the "shut-out". Also try another device/CPU that isn't associated with the one you normally use when going to that site. That has worked in the past, too. Well...I just opened a tab to check...and the www.mdecoder.com site worked this morning. Go figure.

What kind of information did you access from this site? I used the below link, it says I've exceeded my daily usage even though this is the first time I use it :-)

Yes, thats the same message I recently started getting. The information it use to give me was a full detailed list of car details (order date, production date, shipping date, colour paint, engine code etc) and also a full detailed list of the factory options installed at the factory.

UPDATE: active (free) VIN Decoding sites
I know of two VIN decoding sites that are still up and running (for free). There is one big change, though...it used to only require the last 7 digits of the car's VIN...but now it requires all 17 VIN digits.
Here's two BMW VIN decoding sites...just enter the entire 17 digit VIN + answer the CAPTCHA puzzle/questions (correctly) if asked for verification that you're not a "robot":

I'm sorry to hear that your preferred VIN decoder website is no longer providing free searches. This is an alternative website that you can use to decode your BMW VIN for free and access a full list of vehicle options: https://vincheck.info/free-vin-decod...mw-vin-decoder

I think you can also try this one - car specifications by VIN number (bmw).
