We restarted Netflix and jumped into Ripley. Seems good so far after 1.5 episodes.

I'm not going to search 292 pages (and the "stupid search" function came up blank), but if you haven't seen it yet, "1883" as ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING.

It's technically a prequel to Yellowstone. But I've never seen it, and you need no knowledge of it to really, REALLY enjoy the series.

Ten episodes. One and done-- there will be no sequel.

Great, great acting (Sam Elliot won a SAG award) and very realistic to the period.

I'm not a big TV watcher, but I got convinced to watch 1883 and I was blown away.

But, fair warning. Bad Things happen to good people.

Yup this was the last thing we saw and we enjoyed it. I agree with the girl, she just felt wrong for some unknown reason.

I do hope there’s a season 2.

Yes it’s in here somewhere, along with 1923. Enjoyed both but I thought 1883 was better. There will be another (1944j too.

Funnily enough, we watched a couple of episodes of 1923 and it did nothing for me. I have no interest in Yellowstone, so maybe that had something to do with it.

1883 was an excellent stand-alone, and was about as far as I was interested in going.

On a side note, while I was watching with my father (it was his 81st birthday last week, so I've been up visiting him), he pulled out a reproduction 1897 Sears catalog that he had. It was definitely interesting to page through and see what things cost in a similar time to 1883.

I’m surprised you aren't interested in Yellowstone. I held off for a really long time. Everyone was telling me I had to watch it. I thought it wasn't for me, swore it wasn't for me. It just wasn't my thing. But I got hooked really fast. Did you watch any of it? If not, give it a shot.

I'm going to have to check out 1883 now.

Finished Warrior last night. Knowing NF, that's it for the series. Simply mind-boggling how trivial life is to humans.

Added Moses and Marco Polo to the watch list before I hit the hay.

If I recall first season was the best one and then it got a little less compelling in each of the seasons that follow.

It was shite.

Started ok for like 3 episodes then just got flat out weird, slow and directionless.

Thumbs up

Played this game with my sons on Playstation and it is excellent!
Based on the trailer, the Amazon series will be too.
I'm very happy that Amazon is taking a page out of Netflix book and releasing the entire series today! Let the binge begin...

While I was watching 1883 I was thinking about how things have changed since that era. Then, I did some math. My birth year is closer to 1883 than the current year! Damn, I'm old!

Finished 3 Body Problem. Yet another show that starts strong then has no idea what to do with itself. And it just sort of ended... with no ending ....... hopeless.

Cut if off in Episode 3. Started with a ton of potential and then petered out. In this arms race to create content there are too many duds out there and this is another one.

We finished it because we are running out of things to watch.

We have filler shows we watch in between the stuff we actually like. If I'm busy and don't get to watch TV until late or if I'm watching TV while also doing something else we have a set of shows we watch. Then on the weekend or when I have a good amount of time to devote to it we'll watch the good stuff.

I'll often "save" final episodes of good shows just to have them there ready for when I get sick and tired of crap.

That being said I thought 3 Body Problem was better than a lot of shit I've seen on Netflix recently. It had a lot of parts that were stupid and just kind of took me out of it but overall I enjoyed it. Might have made the good show list, not sure it was good enough to save episodes though.

That's the scary part, IT IS BETTER than anything I have seen in ages but it's still fell on it's face after about episode 5.

I'm really curious what's on your tv every night...must be a blank screen lol.

What series are approved by the great Alfisti (that are great from start-to-end)?

Monday through Thursday I am on the PS5 racing online or blasting 12 yr olds on Fortnite to chill. Friday through Sunday nights I sit with the mrs, i much prefer movies but she can't stay awake so i tolerate her stuff to some degree until she passes out with a cab sav.

Great series, if I go back far enough I have a few.....

- Dexter
- Breaking Bad (this was magnificent)
- Sons of Anarchy (edge case)
- Dexter 2
- Last of Us
- Walking Dead until about season 5 then it went to shit
- Squid Game was good

Honestly ... not much else. Some start really, really well then just have n idea what to do with themselves. 3 Body Problem and Ted Lasso are good examples, 3 or 4 episodes in I am there with my fat free snacks and rye and coke zero and all ready to watch it and then ..... it just goes to shit.

The one that really loses me is Game of Thrones. Started OK then ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz nothing happened for like 5 episodes. Like wake me up when something happens.
