Love the front bumper, and black window trim.
However, a proper M-sport would have black twin kidney grills, and no chrome stip on the boot lid!

yawn..
BMW could have done better... I guess common people could not tell the difference between this and a standard 7 Series... Well, let`s wait what the final, undisguised front bumper will look like.. maybe some LEDs or chrome stripes will actually make it look like something new or different from a standard 7er. |

Actually, this makes me a bit mad. Here some of us are the early, loyal buyers of the new F01/F02 and here within 6 months of the US release, they may have a new package. I would have waited for this potential M sport package to compliment the sport package I ordered.

I think the new 7er might be the ugliest luxury car on the road.

I think they could of risked some more aggressive side skirts. I always loved how the audi S8 looked... perhaps not that aggressive needed in a 7 but just enough to make an average person take another look while passing by.
but overall I like the look of the F01. One thing that I did not like about BMW's current trend is to make cars as big as the biggest in each respective class of car. For example the current 7 is just as large as an S class, bigger if you take the Li. However my favorite 7 of the late 90s (e38) was not as big as the S-class of the same era. Nothing wrong with staying with current auto trends, just something about that slightly more compact for a large car design was appealing to me. well thats my 2, or 3, or 10 cents... |

Next year we'll get extra features for free that are currently cost option. It is just the normal model marketing strategy and not a slight on the original design.

BMW ALWAYS does this, or does similar things... How do you think 2006 e90 330i owners felt when the 2007 e90 335i was announced? And the ZMP package for 135i's released about a year after 135i's came out? e46 ZHP's were released about a year after the LCI e46 came out... Those are the three that pop into my head instantly, I'm sure there are dozens of others... Sorry you feel that way, but don't worry, everyone drives a "used" car, they are never "new" forever. Never say never. If its not available for North America at production start, that doesn't mean it will never bee available...

And, the key word that you said regarding the ZMP and ZHP was "year". I can understand a year, but when the US is barely taking deliveries, this is a bit soon. I guess the slow economy and impact on sales will do this |

^ and ZMP (with a different package name "M-Sport") was available on the e90 at or just after production, but not in the US. For some reason they hold ZMP, ZHP or whatever, for the 3ers until after LCI. They announced ZMP for the LCI e90 a few months after the LCI was released. The ZHP (not quite but similar) package was available on pre LCI e46's in other countries, but not the US. At LCI time, it was available in other countries (2002) but not in the US, not until 2003.
My prediction: ZMP package available for 7er's in the US in about a year... Wait or don't, if you do wait for the availability of the ZMP package (if it does take a year) spy photo's of LCI F01's will start surfacing about a year after you take delivery, so then do you wait again? Because if you do, a year after you take delivery of your LCI F01, spy photo's will surface of the next generation 7er. But the M-Sport package probably won't be available in the US the first year, so do you wait again for year two? And the cycle continues... Bottom line, if your about to take delivery of your f01, ENJOY IT! If you leased, then pick up an LCI model with the ZMP package at the end of your 36 months. No need to fret about what's next, there is always going to be something "next." Thats just how it is. Long day, hope that made sense, off to bed...

I'm already first on the list for a 2011 M5 - so I am really looking forward to it as well as the double clutch tranny (SMG is a bit tiresome during a commute). I'm thinking of actually getting a 760i next year- so hopefully I can get one with this M-sport package (assuming we get it in the US)..... |

The current sport package for the 7er includes active steering which is hardly sporty. Maybe they will offer a true sport package without Lexus like active steering on this version.
