Really
. This is the second time you've posted something in which the 7 loses. I think I've made a good decision, I've driven them and none of them were better. Of course with different options others will win, mine has all of them that I need. After all it is all opinion

I have too test driven the new 7 and comparing them from previous generations, especially the E38 740Li. The new 7-series is a disappointment. And honestly in this price range we shouldn't need to opt for special options to enhance the ride/handling/steering of a car. It should be standard OR they should have made the BASE car already perfected from the factory and not have to add these options.

I have had my car for a year and a half and I never looked back. I've driven all competitor's and they can't hold a candle to the 7er. People have different tastes and the 7er is not for everyone. All I know is that, this is my third one and I don't plan on changing cars anytime soon (might just get the new M5 for the weekends ).

Buncha bull. Recently the 7-series came out on top vs. these same competitors in other rags -- MotorTrend, Automobile... even in Edmonds tests... but I believe that was the 740i, not the 750Li. Just shows it's all subjective. And the 7-series offers so many different combinations (aren't there something like nine different models from which to choose if long and short wheelbases are taken into consideration?) it's difficult to do true apples-to-apples comparisons anyway. 730d, 730Ld (both offered everywhere but here in the USA), 740i, 740Li, 750i, 750Li, 760Li, ActiveHybrid 7, ActiveHybrid 7L.
If the competitive offerings (A8, XJ, etc) are so much better, why isn't anyone buying them? The article states that during 2010, the three flagships' combined cumulative sales totaled 18,052. The 7-series' share of that number was 12,253 (or 68 percent!!). That's a massive share -- leaving the A8 and XJ with paltry combined sales of 5,799 (or 2900 a piece if spit 50/50). Quite a smackdown by the 7-series. At the end of the day people are going to buy what "moves" them <-- pun intended.
