Tried the Plantation XO 20 year last night. That's a damn fine rum, super smooth and very nice taste. Will definitely have to make sure to keep a bottle on hand.

Hey! I finally found some yellow spot. It was on the ghetto side of town, there was a store with great pricing and unreal selection. Picked up another abundah, an aberlour 16, glenfiddich XX, and a peaty taster of Lagavulin 16, Talisker 10 and Cragganmore 12. It was a good day.

Someone gave me a half gallon as a gift. Have yet to try it. But have heard it is quite tasty. It is hugely popular here in TX.

Yeah, the ER and Tomatin are what I give guests that really don't care what they are drinking. The Yellow Spot lived up to the hype you guys were throwing around. I am definitely going to have to add it to the replacement list (when it gets close to gone)

It's alright. I like to buy American stuff when I can. Relatively cheap, goes down pretty smooth too.

I enjoy vodka occasionally. Especially with cranberry and lime.

I can in fact highly recommend an amazing Vodka if you want incredibly smooth even straight: ZYR

I know you have taken a keen liking to sipping Rums.

Keep an eye out for these 2 that I also keep on hand. I know you will enjoy them:

Either are very tasty and smooth! The bottle is gorgeous too.

if you can find it for retail, then go ahead and buy it to say you tried it. if it's marked up at all (due to its passing relationship with pappy van winkle) then dont bother. in short, this juice doesnt make the cut to PVW for a reason...

I've had Weller, especially back in the day. A solid bourbon, but nothing special. Are you referring to a particular version?

i'm referring specifically to the special reserve (90 proof) or the antique (107 proof). if you can find them in the $25 - $35 then they are fine bourbons, but as you said...nothing special. i've seen stores with them marked up to $80-$100 which is highway robbery.

i've got a weller antique gathering dust on my shelf. no one will pick it over any other whiskey on my bar...

i should note that i prefer high-rye style bourbons, but certainly appreciate a good wheated bourbon. the wellers i mentioned just dont excited my palate.

I would take that Weller Antique off your hands if you're really that indifferent.

I like a little bit of everything. I am a big fan of Rye (and high rye in turn) but also enjoy quite the smattering of other offerings.

I tried out the Cragganmore 12 last night and really enjoyed it as an intro into peat. I then had a small glass of Talisker 10 after shoveling the drive and also really enjoyed that one. I am going to try out the Lagavulin 16 tonight and if I enjoy that half as much as the others, maybe I will try the Ardbeg Corryvrecken again.

The Corryvrecken will not change its colours...I find the Ardbeg 10 to be much more balanced and enjoyable.

i'm not all that indifferent it's really just warning people not to overpay for it. maybe the 12-year weller is worth it...i don't know, but it looks like it fetches over $100 / bottle.

as a wise man once said....there is no bad whiskey; some whiskies just happened to be better than others.

i promise it wont go to waste...
