Ford EV's don't have heat pumps. Doesn't surprise me they have verified negative 30% range in cold temps. It takes a lot of energy to heat a cabin and keep temps comfortable. Ford EV's have very primitive EV architecture, not very impressive products to be honest.

I don't think it was said that they were unreliable but that the range drop was unacceptable. There is not question EV's have a place for commuting and in urban areas, but when I see the issues with road trips, having to plan your route etc around available charging stations I can see how range anxiety is effected when cold is an added factor. And as more folks get into EV's and the wait time at charging stations increases I can see the appeal being less than it is now.

I posted a video from Youtuber Rich Rebuilds where he filmed his trip from NJ to Georgia and back up to Massachusetts. It's not just if you can find a charging station. It's if the data is correct in the GPS maps in these vehicles as to whether there is even a charging station at a particular location. Next, it's if the charging station actually works and if it does will it charge at the highest charge rate the the charging station and vehicle is capable of. Then there's the cost. Rich got about 250 miles of range after spending $75ish to charge his Rivian. All of these things he experienced on his trip along the East Coast which isn't exactly entirely rural.

This also reminded me about the major snow F' up that happened last year in Virginia. Cars were stranded on I95 because the snow crews were caught unprepared. People in electric vehicles were abandoning their cars to seek some sort of shelter either with ICE powered cars stranded there with them or walking off the highway to look for lodging. When the highway was dug out, VDOT had to now deal with all the EVs with dead batteries to get them off the highway.

I want to be taller and better looking....if the 3rd largest shareholder isn't happy he can sell his shares, Musk is in charge. I'm not sure why all the anger directed at Musk, he's levelled the playing field.

Uhhhm.... Maybe because Musk is the single handed reason for the implosion of Tesla stock! His BS shenanigans with Twitter and the domino effect is pretty obvious.

I'll be brutally honest it doesn't surprise me.Teslas were overvalued and overhyped as not many ev around then.
Now that every tom dick and Harry(who were sold porkies that they depreciate glacially) have them it's market forces and they're the fastest depreciating cars around. Also as build quality poor not surprised as who would want to buy them used/out of warranty.

Yes, totally overvalued. are they really worth 10 times GM? I don't think so. There is also this :

Elon Musk disclosed another $3.6 billion in stock sales on Wednesday, taking his total near $40 billion this year

All used cars are falling finally, and for a while Tesla was immune to that. Not any more. I looked at the cars.com listing a few days ago and there were a lot of them that have been on the lots for months and have had 15% price reductions, and are still for sale. On top of that, the new ones are stacking up at tesla stores. I looked earlier this week at my local "Existing Inventory" and it was up ~1000% over recent historical normal levels. Even the top selling models/versions are stacking up. I looked again today and now inventory is up 1200%, in less than a week.

This will get much worse for them before it gets better.

This year he took out 40 thousand millions to put under the mattress in these f'd up times. Poor bastard.
He's probably really distraught.

?
Why weren't people's heads falling off about titter pre-Musk.
Oodles of pedophile crap. Doxxing. Banned the oldest newspaper in the country for printing truth. Because a mess of soul-searching spooks and filthy alphabets said it was a fake story?
Single handily done more for people in need, Starlink is huge, than any bureaucratic room full of putz brains.

Complicity theorists. Plain and 'simple'.

*I think teslas are crap.

What planet do you live on? In the society we live in, personality matters, it's pretty clear musk's personality will affect his companies.

If you have not noticed the markets have been complete sh*t this year. Auto brand stocks are all down this year. Ford is down 45% YTD, GM is down 41% YTD. Look at the other big US social media platform Meta...down 65% YTD. Fact remains Tesla sells more EV's than all other brands combined. Twitter use is actually up since he bought it.

Just like the crypto markets, if you didn't dump at the peak when m2 was at all time highs, you're in for the ride. Your next losses in terms of overall won't be more than a couple more %, but can slip another 20+ from here.

I was hoping for Cybertruck-related recovery.

But but...
The amount of money lost is huge in tesla over the year and percentage loss is huge too(starts the year off at 300 now is 150)
And yeah brands like bmw don't seem to fall as much in gross amount or percentages(starts the year off at 89 now 82)
Guess that's why we are on bimmerpost

Not to mention what he did for "Earn 10 billion a day, Ask me how" Ukrainian sloth man. He would have been obliterated without Starlink.

So yeah, he's quite busy with installs.
