On 14 April 1929, Monaco staged the first Grand Prix in its history, opening a chapter that long predated the Formula 1 World Championship.
William Grover-Williams won the race in a Bugatti, but the greater story was the beginning of an event that would go on to become one of motor racing’s most recognisable and enduring stages. |

Here's a few more. The fastest lap time in 1929 was 2:15, the qualifying time in 2025 was 1:09.954. So cool.
