A forum is a means of public communication, PMs are supplementary. It's not right to go straight private with people you don't know. As a coach once said to a student: "Well, it's a rude example but you might hopefully understand.". They don't want this place to be a brothel. When you meet a girl do you request a checklist? You are supposed to take her out first and be romantic rather than pragmatic, usually. She already knows what you want so talk about something else. Try to participate in discussions of cars to find yourself verified to take it to another level. If it's not what you want you came to a wrong place, that's it.

"a certain number of verified post replies"... This leaves me almost as puzzled as when my boss posted a message on Teams letting everyone know that "the rumours are not true". Lots of head scratching later and I've now made up my mind that the guy is a complete bell end.

Posts need to be substantive. Not just hey cool car, hi, looks great, how many posts do i need to pm, where can i get some free sh!t, etc.
it's a secret how they do it because it was set up to weed out scammers and freeloaders.

For me, this message is shown on top of the page "Thank you for verifying your account!
In order to use the PM system and be a full fledged member of this community, you will have to make a certain number of verified post replies and wait 7 days for your account to be upgraded."
Which probably means when you reach the certain amount of verified post replies you'll have to wait ~7 days i guess. But who really knows exactly other than the devs?

I also see on my account that it mentions "In order to use the PM system and be a full fledged member of this community, you will have to make a certain number of verified post replies and wait 7 days for your account to be upgraded." Does anyone know how many posts that takes or how to get those posts verified?
