According to this winner it only takes a few months with no posts other than (verified?) pure garbage and grabbing a pipe .

Free advices/help are public. What do you think they request PM for here? They don't go explicit hoping you understand. Cheaper ain't free.

Same problem here. It would be great in terms of UX to get to know how many posts should I make to get PM function. Maybe just little tooltip while hovering the "Private Messaging Disabled" banner saying "4/X posts left to activate PM function" would help a lot. Of course it should be legit posts, not spam.
