Finally reached Lv30 last night after running the 200mi of Laguna Seca a couple times, which goes by quick in the FGT (roughly 1h 45m per race)
I tried doing the Red Bull X2010 challenge and HOLY CRAP that thing is fast! I mean, just stupid fast. And the times this challenge is making you run are just retarded, so much that I think my DFGT wheel will break at some point really soon. I was approaching a braking zone before a corner and the wheel started shaking violently, even with a tight grip on it. It was making a lot of noise thru the whole lap, shaking, thudding, grinding. I'll be really pissed if this damn car breaks my wheel. |

If you are one of those folk that plays with the driver aides off, I would recommend turning them on for the FGT. The car is really easy to spin out, and I think aides are needed. |

I plan on avoiding the FGT race for as long as I can lol. Plus I found a Caterham in the UCD so I could care less
And I'd say that by the next seasonal events update I'll be up to level 30.

which is really damn weird....because they're completely the opposite of cheap with the seasonal events (which are significantly easier)

with no restriction on seasonal bonus races, some just require you to get a cheap car and mod it slightly...and won 100k+ and 100k XP with 6 laps....easy...

Similarly, I'm avoiding the endurance races. I'll just wait for the next seasonal update and I should reach Lvl 30. I'm kinda looking forward to the FGT (not sure why).

Indy 500 is the worst of all since its a boring track to start with...then driving 200 laps is excruciating

I was reading some post/forum somewhere and this debate sparked up whether or not GT5 was a 'not finished game', or a game like every other game that would need patches/bug fixes etc. the more and more I play the game and look into it, the more and more I realized it was just a not finished game. Stupid things like realizing that people would have to spend countless hours just to FIND a FGT. Obviously they never did any QA/QC checks and have someone play the game from start to finish. |

Ya it makes you wonder what the fuck they did for the last 6 years. I think it was spent mostly on creating their awful musice for the game, and making sure the inside of a Focus ST looks real. Who the hell cares. How abouth the Veyron, and the other High end cars that have no interior view? 200 cars out of 1000 with inside views after 6 years is not good progress. I honestly think they did not want to release it yet, but were forced to. they need to get on top of the patches to make this game more playable.
The used car area is retarded with ahaving to wait for a pile of crap Lupo or some other french piece of shit to come up so you can finish a race series. It should of been like it was before in GT4. Quote:

UCD is one of the bad things happened in GT5...I only recall I've only bought only a few cars from UCD....all others are brand new instead....its as useless as the UCD shown in Top Gear American special....
btw...I've bought my FGT in Online dealership instead.... GT5 makes me feel like they're hired hundreds of engineers and artists to model and refine 200 cars over 6 years...but only 2 blokes to program the game and so....

Ya I agree 100% I will be playing it a lot less when TDU2 comes out since I have several friends that are waiting for it on Xbox. It wont have the vast car list as GT5, but it is more of an social game.

Very disappointed in the seasonal events this week. Sure I made 2mil on the touring car race, but thats only because I already had the ABT Audi TT touring car I got from one of the level tickets I had. All the rest are lame.
The Alfa 8C challenge only nets you 350,000cr, however the car itself costs 226,000cr. The Schimmwagen challenge gets you 800,000cr, but the car is over 660,000cr. I think the days of the the Seasonal Events being money/XP pits are over |

At least that gives me a good XP up...=/
But yah...i still think seasonal races are to force you to buy some cars that you wouldn't normally....i wouldn't buy the VW Schimmwagen or Peugeot 207 normally....unless the game forces me to...

But there's a typical trend or so in Seasonal races...
There's always one with painfully slow race (Prius, i-MiEV, Schimmwagen) One or two FF races (Volvo C30, Peugeot 207, VW Golf, Focus ST, Fiat 500...) Two or Three FR or MR races (Ford GT, Dodge Challenger, Alfa 8C, TVR Tuscan, RX-7....etc) Then finally one special tuned cars category (Rally cars, DTM Touring cars, NASCAR, JGTC Touring race cars...)

I think what they are trying to do is make you want to play more since they tend to know that most people will not attempt the endurance races for more XP. These seasonal events give you a few more races each week to do, and with weird cars you would not normally consider at all.
It is all in an effort to keep you interested. I know I am not touching any of the other long endurance races and the other races I completed are sor of boring already. I have yet to do any online racing. It is frustrating with the pace at which you progress past level 25. I was sitting at lv28 with 415000 pts of the 501k needed to get to 29, and after I did the 4 seasonal events I am barely getting to half way towards lv30. i have to wait until next week, now or go and race Indy for 9800pts for each 6.38min it takes to complete the 10 laps. That gets really boring really fast. The replay ability of this game is getting to be less and less for me. They will need to offer some new tracks at some point. It is too bad they cant offer an open world type of experience for online only like NFS or TDU. I wouldnt want them to copy those exactly, but put some sort of twist on it, and have it be in Japan that you drive around. One cool thing they could do is let you race the Bullet Train across check points or something. Sort of like Top Gear did. Quote:
